I keep a handful of stars in a cupboard behind the stairs; a summer’s day pleated between the pages of this book. The memory of warm honey fills this bottle still. Take them, please: your fee for the sound of that word.
Just so you know–your line in last week’s winners post about opening the other window has been rattling in my brain all week and finally made it into a poem.
Also, I love this–stars/stairs, pleated/pages, the last line.

You leave such great comments- I keep meaning to thank you for it and call it out. It’s super useful to me to know what’s working.

Any writer would be honoured to be paid that way. Loving the imagery here.

Beautiful, beautiful. I love the line about the warm honey – it engages so many senses (taste, sight, smell, touch).

Well, you have confirmed that I should never attempt the microfiction grid ever again – in other words, this is gorgeous
